Lightonahill officially launched on 22 March 2025 with one simple goal: to turn my passion for crafting leather goods into a real business. But the journey started earlier than that. About a year before the official launch, I decided to teach myself leatherworking. I picked up some basic tools and a small piece of A4 leather, then made my very first wallet. Honestly, it wasn't perfect—far from it—but it was mine, and I was proud of it. That wallet became a gift for my father, who had been needing a replacement for ages.
People often ask me how I learned this craft, and my answer is always the same: YouTube. It sounds simple, but it's completely true. Between YouTube tutorials and inspiration from Pinterest, I taught myself everything I needed to know. The combination of video guides and visual references gave me the foundation to start experimenting, making mistakes, and eventually improving my skills.
That's how Lightonahill was born—from curiosity, determination, and the willingness to learn. What started as a personal project has become something I'm truly passionate about sharing with you.
